Some roads are too long to walk alone. Your guardian is a bodyguard first. Mark a target and it moves in with you. Take a wound and it turns to mend you, healing on a threshold you set yourself, so it steps in early in a hard fight or holds its magic for a real emergency. It follows you up ladders and stairs, down into the dark of a mine, and across the boundary between the surface and the caves without ever losing you a floor below. It walks where a path exists and paths around walls rather than pressing into them, and only when there is truly no route will it slip through to your side.

It also learns. Skills begin at a seasoned sixty and climb naturally with every fight you take on together, and a living skills window lets you watch every weapon, shield, style and characteristic rise. Name your guardian, choose its appearance, retune how it fights and when it heals, all from a single window in game.

The coin itself is the remarkable part. It is not a key to something stored elsewhere. The coin is your companion, its name, gear, skills and every setting carried inside it. Put it in your pocket and sail to another server and the same guardian answers your call there, wearing exactly what it wore, with every skill intact. Change its armour on one shore and the change is waiting for you on the other.
