The short version

Do not take other people’s things. Do not wreck other people’s work. Do not be the reason someone stops logging in.

Everything below is detail on those three.

Griefing

Deed permissions exist and are respected. Building deliberately to block, spite, or trap another player is griefing whether or not the permissions technically allowed it.

Terraforming and roads

Small works near your own deed need no approval. Large-scale terraforming, tunnels, and canals that cross public land need a GM to sign off first — mostly so two people do not dig the same canal from opposite ends at different heights.

Standard public road surface is rounded cobblestone.

Exploits and bugs

If you find something that is clearly not intended, report it. Using it on purpose after you have noticed it is the difference between finding a bug and exploiting one.
